Description
My name is Finian O'Leary and I am an experienced male home carer. With a career that spans many years, I have had the privilege of helping individuals with a wide range of care needs. I have worked more recently as mental health outreach worker in the community visiting individuals in their homes. Some of the care types I am experienced in hourly care and overnight care.
My experience includes working with clients who have Mild Cognitive Impairment, are bed bound, have Parkinson's Disease, as well as those dealing with anxiety and depression. Through my previous roles, I have become skilled in assisting with bathing, toileting, and dressing. I also provide companionship, i very much enjoy listening to life stories, i enjoy cooking and can help with cooking meals to ensure my clients receive proper nutrition as this is one of my hobbies and as result my daughter is now studying dietetics at university.
Outside of work, I enjoy engaging in various hobbies. I love taking long walks to stay active and keep my mind refreshed, I find great joy in preparing delicious meals for myself daughter and others. In addition, I enjoy spending time in my garden and nature hiking in my spare time, practicing yoga and reading.
When it comes to pets, I am comfortable caring for a variety of animals. Whether it's cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, or even lizards, I can ensure they receive the attention and care they need.
What sets me apart as a carer is my background an counselling skills , and person centred approach, helpful attitude. I am motivated by the desire to help people lead independent lives and provide them with the support they need to do so. Although I am unable to drive and do not own a car, I am dedicated to finding transportation solutions to ensure my clients' needs are met.
